Tupac’s Brother Upset With Drake’s Use Of AI On ‘Taylor Made’
Tupac’s brother is upset with Drake’s use of AI in “Taylor Made.” The track features an AI-generated verse designed to sound like the late rapper, with fiery bars aimed at Kendrick Lamar. Mopreme Shakur told TMZ that he wishes the Toronto artist would have not used his brother’s vocals as a “pawn” on a diss track in which the late rapper is not a part of.
The AI-generated voice of Tupac is heard rapping “Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior/Engraving your name in some hip-hop history,” AI Tupac raps in the opening verse. “F— this Canadian light-skin, Dot/We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man.”
Mopreme believes Drake was “weaponizing” Pac’s voice in this hip-hop war with Kendrick. He says that he is a fan of both artists and wishes that they both keep their beef in their lyrics and not on the street.
Drake’s Use Of AI On ‘Taylor Made’ Also Includes Snoop Dogg Who Reacted
In addition to Tupac, Drake also used an AI-generated Snoop Dogg to attack Kendrick as the rap veteran questions the Compton native’s past.
“I know you never been to jail, or wore jumpsuits and shower shoes/Never shot nobody, never stabbed nobody/Never did nothing violent to no one, it’s the homies that empower you/But, still, you gotta show this f—— owl who’s boss on the West/Now’s a time to really make a power move,” the voice raps in the second verse.
Snoop Dogg responded to the use of his voice on the track: “They did what? When? How? Are you sure? [Sigh] Y’all have a good night,” the rap veteran said in an Instagram clip. “Why everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the f—— what happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed. Good night.”
In the last verse of the song, Drake comes for Kendrick’s lack of response claiming he is waiting to drop his diss track because Taylor Swift — who Kendrick has collaborated before on “Bad Blood” — dropped her double album The Tortured Poets Department on Friday (April 19) and he wants the chance to go No. 1. The “Rich Baby Daddy” hitmaker also admitted he’s moved music releases around Swift’s drops., “But now we gotta wait a f—— week ’cause Taylor Swift is your new Top/And if you ’bout to drop, she gotta approve.” He adds later, “Yeah, shoutout to Taylor Swift/Biggest gangster in the music game right now/You know, I moved my album when she dropped.”
Drake’s verse did not contain an AI-generated voice. At the time of this writing, Kendrick has not responded to the “Taylor Made” freestyle.
