Kendall Jenner is Heading to Michigan This October: What to Know
Model Kendall Jenner has scheduled a visit to Michigan in October for a meet-and-greet event related to her 818 Tequila brand. According to an announcement on Top Shelf Liquor’s Facebook page, the event will take place at the liquor store, located at 6660 Allen Road in Allen Park. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 11th, as she will be there from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
What to know
Please note that this event is exclusively for people aged 21 and above, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the liquor store’s post. It’s important to keep in mind that securing a place in line does not guarantee you a signed bottle or the opportunity to meet Jenner. Additionally, they want people to know that only 818 Tequila bottles will be autographed, and professional photography is not allowed.
In a recent promotional tour, Jenner made stops at liquor shops in New York City, including the Park Avenue Liquor Shop, where she personally signed 818 Tequila bottles for customers. She also visited the Sugar Factory in Times Square, where she tasted their signature Goblet cocktails, “Cali Love” and “Pretty in Pink,” both of which feature 818 Tequila.
About Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila
In 2021, Jenner introduced her 818 Tequila brand on Instagram, emphasizing the extensive time and effort invested in its creation. “For almost four years I’ve been on a journey to create the best-tasting tequila. after dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING..3.5 years later I think we’ve done it!” Jenner wrote in a 2021 Instagram post.
This handcrafted liquor brand hails from Jalisco, Mexico, according to the 818 website. And it has several awards from tasting competitions, including recognition at the World Tequila Awards in 2020, where it received awards for Best Reposado Tequila and Best Añejo Tequila.
818 Tequila appears to draw its name from the San Fernando Valley area code, which is associated with Kendall Jenner’s hometown in northern Los Angeles, California. Currently, the brand offers diverse tequila options, including blanco, añejo, reposado, and reserve.
These Famous Athletes Also Own Spirits Brands
It’s become increasingly common to see some of the biggest names in sports become successful business owners and investors outside of their ballgame. In fact, a good number of professional athletes now own spirits brands. Here, we will look at some tequila, whiskey, and bourbon drinks you may not have known were launched or owned by such players.
Tequila
Michael Jordan and LeBron James are often compared as two of the greatest basketball players to ever play in the NBA. But did you know they also compete in the tequila arena? Jordan is a founder of Cincoro Tequila, and James holds the same title for Lobos 1707. While he is not a founder, Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, is a major investor in Casa Azul’s tequila soda. Lastly, we have to give a nod to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. An actor and former professional wrestler, Johnson’s Teremana Tequila was the fastest growing tequila brand in the country.
Whiskey and Bourbon
Derek Jeter is part of the Bespoken Spirits team that is infamous for the wood-spoken Whiskey products. Peyton Manning is always up for a good time. He launched a Tennessee and Kentucky-style bourbon with Sweetens Cove in 2021. Joining his Bulls teammate, Scottie Pippen linked up with Savage and Cooke distillery to launch DIGITS bourbon in 2022. Finally, Pittsburgh Steelers’ legend Terry Bradshaw has been well-known for his Kentucky Straights whiskey bourbon brand. He even lends his name to the labeling.
Stephen Curry
One of the latest NBA players to step into the scene is Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry. This month, Curry announced the launch of his official Bourbon Whiskey. Moreover, Curry has proven to be an MVP on and off the court with the work of his SC30 enterprises.
With Curry’s Gentleman’s Cut being the newest addition to soon hit the shelves, here is a closer look at some NBA athletes and their spirits brands.
