Kodak Black, born Bill Kahan Kapri, gained mainstream success after his 2014 single “No Flockin” dropped. Three years after the release of “No Flockin” he came back into the spotlight with his debut album Painting Pictures which peaked at No. 3 US Billboard 200. Painting Pictures contained “Tunnel Vision,” another hit from the South Florida rapper.   On "Patty Cake" from Kodak's debut album 'Painting Pictures,' the South Florida native boasts about his expensive lifestyle. Ness produced the track and said that Kodak wasn't originally the artist in mind when he made the beat. "When I made this I was thinking of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Chance The Rapper, I could see Lil Wayne on it," he told Genius. "It's just one of them beats that a lot of people can just freestyle on and flow."

  The title of the song is named after the sound your car makes when you turn fast. Kodak released the song in 2014 but it later gained traction in the latter half of 2015 after Drake shared the song on his social media. Despite Kodak getting a nice cosign from the Canadian rapper he does not credit Drizzy for putting him on. "Drake ain't make me," Kodak said in regards of the track to The Fader. "I was just saying anything because people was smoking flakka at that time. So I was making fun of my homeboys who started smoking that, my uncle was smoking that.   In "Tunnel Vision" Kodak touches upon several systemic issues and offers his personal experience. The South Florida native raps about serving prison time and how the criminal justice system is corrupt and targets Black men. In the video for "Tunnel Vision," Kodak is seen in front of a burning cross referencing the hate group KKK burning the religious symbol in front of Black families' homes in the early 20th century. Later in the video, the rapper references a white man wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat in preparation to shoot a Black man when his gun jams and a little girl shouts "Stop!" The song is produced by Metro Boomin and Southside. This song has been certified six times platinum by the RIAA.

  Kodak recruits Travis Scott and Offset for "ZEZE" off of his 2018 album 'Dying to Live'. In this track, all three rappers boast about the finer things in life. This song debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 which became the highest-charting song beginning with the letter "Z". The record was previously held by Bob B.   "Super Gremlin" was recorded for Kodak's Sniper Gang label compilation album 'Sniper Gang Presents Syko Bob & Snapkatt: Nightmare Babies' and later was added to his 2022 album 'Back for Everything.' On the track, he raps about his frequent collaborator Jackboys but also how someone he was close to switched up on him. The music video for "Super Gremlin" went viral due to the rapper being dressed up as a gremlin and behaving oddly in the visual.
