Miranda Lambert: The Holidays Bring This Out In Her
Miranda Lambert means business with her music and other ventures. She shows her softer side when it comes to caring for her animals and the pets and animals who need homes throughout the country through Muttnation.
In the many interviews I have had with Miranda over the years, she told me that she has yet another soft side and a bit of a domestic side when it comes to the holidays. She said, “I love holidays. It’s my time to really be a girl. I grew up with all the decorations and the cooking. I get really domestic during the holidays, and it’s kind of weird because it’s so opposite of who I am on stage.”
She added, “I love to bake cookies and cook dinner for the whole family. I have every decoration you can imagine, and I like to have a tree in every room. Also, it’s my time off, so I really get to spend time with people I really care about.”
In 2021, Miranda released a Christmas album with her group the Pistol Annies, called Hell Of A Holiday. The trio also had a TV special to celebrate the release.
When Tornado struck Nashville recently, Lambert jumped into action, posting links to help find pets. According to News Channel 5, the Tornado killed six people in Clarksville and Madison, and more than two dozen people were sent to a Nashville area hospital. The Tornado also destroyed many homes in the area—tornado rating as an EF-3, with winds of 150 mph.
Miranda posted a message to her Insta Stories one day after the tornados (12/10). She wrote, “My band and crew and I anxiously awaited phone calls from family members at home in Nashville yesterday as we heard news of the tornados.”
She continued, “Thankfully, all their families are safe. I know others weren’t so lucky. My heart goes out to everyone that was in the path of the Tornado. Sending you all so much love.”
Lambert concluded, “@muttnation will figure out the best way to work with local rescues and help displaced animals this week. Love you all.”
In the next slide, Miranda posted links to sites that would help find pets after the storm, a link for those who find stray animals, and a pet food pantry ink for those needing to feed their pets.
