10 Year Walmart Employee Goes Viral After Signing Off For Last Time
Working for 10 years for any employer is a pretty big accomplishment. It’s an even bigger accomplishment if you survived 10 years in the retail world.
A video has just started going viral of an employee at a Walmart in Illinois giving a sad farewell on the store’s PA. She had worked at that store for 10 years and had made some close friendships with her co-workers. After she made her final sign-off on the store communication channel she recorded a little video alone in her car.
The second part is when she gets very emotional. She’s in her car talking about the “work family” she’ll be leaving after 10 years. The video has been getting a lot of attention and taking off online.
It’s nice to see someone so appreciative of the co-workers and for having the job for so long. It’s a tough industry to work in with little thanks from shoppers or management. It requires you to have to give up your nights, weekends, and sometimes holidays to keep your position. So to see someone so emotional is surprising.
You’d expect more cheers and celebration over moving on to a better job. Something more like Arnetta The Moodsetta who quit live on the radio almost 20 years ago. Arnetta actually went live on the radio and quit, saying “I quit this b**ch!”
It’s one of Dave’s favorite quitting moments and gets brought up on the show every so often. If you would like to experience a blast from the past, check out the video of the audio from the infamous moment Arnetta quits.
So there are two very different and very viral ways of leaving your job. We’re not sure if the woman who was emotional about leaving her Walmart job will still be talked about in the next 20 years, but it’s pretty hard to top the way Arnetta the Moodsetta resigned.
