R.I.P. Butt Drugs Pharmacy and Their Buttshakes
If you’re from the Indiana area you may have heard of this pharmacy!
Sad news for a small town in Indiana, which is losing its pharmacy, BUTT DRUGS. They were family-owned for 71 years . . . and were famous for their Buttshakes.
Butt was the family name and the pharmacy has used it in three different ways. Ultimately ending with the current name. Butt Drugs! The business used the family name in cleaver puns, commercial jingles, and put on all sorts of novelty merchandise like bumper stickers and t-shirts.
People would travel for miles to buy some of their souvenirs.
The current owners put the closing blame on changes in healthcare and issues pharmacies face controlling what insurance companies pay for medicines. They’ll close their doors on April 29th.
