Midland’s Jess Carson Recalls His Favorite Halloween Costume
Midland is getting geared up for Halloween, which has led to conversations about some of their favorite costumes from the past.
The best costume the trio’s Jess Carson has ever worn actually found him. “I was actually working at a vintage clothing store in Oregon and this is when [the film] The Royal Tenenbaums came out,” he recalls in an interview with the group’s record label while noting Luke Wilson’s character in the movie. “That exact suit, that camel colored suit, came into the store, and then the exact red white and blue striped headband and wristbands. I didn’t even have an idea of what to dress up for but it came in. The suit fit me perfectly.” (See it below in a Twitter post by sports writer Chris Palmer.)
Quips lead singer Mark Wystrach. “It’s like a Cinderella story.”
“I had the sneakers and the racket,” Jess continues, laughing. “And it was like literally the most spot on.”

The guys have Halloween night off from touring, so there’s plenty of time for a costume party somewhere. They continue as part of CMT On Tour with Jon Pardi shortly thereafter. Check upcoming tour dates here.
