Restaurant Is Giving Discounts Depending On Woman’s Bra Size
Imagine entering a restaurant and receiving a discount based on the size of your chest.
Well, for one food establishment in China, this is reportedly a reality.
Twitter user @ThaiMythBuster, posted a photo of the alleged bra-size discount. The tweet read “Welcome in female friendly #China. Trendy Shrimp in Hangzhou gives you discount depending on the seize of your breasts.” The poster then has a series of cartoons with different cup sizes and the discount one would receive. Bustle reports that their slogan reads “The whole city is looking for BREASTS.”

The story about the restaurant was picked up by the BBC this past Monday. Needless to say, the information about their sexist behaviors quickly became popular. The BBC wrote that individuals are calling the posters “vulgar advertising” and “discriminatory towards woman”. The restaurant has received a series of complaints, and they have since removed the posters.
The general manager of Trendy Shrimp, Lan Shenggang, also released a statement defending his company’s advertising techniques. He told the BBC that “Once the promotion started, customer numbers rose by about 20%, some of the girls we met were very proud – they had nothing to hide.”
When a woman would come into the restaurant to claim their discount, they didn’t have to deal with any male staff members. Shenggang stated all women could go to a female waitress so they could “avoid embarrassment”.

Granted, this advertising concept may have allowed for more customers, but it implies that small boobs aren’t worthy of a mega discount. Not to mention, it strictly uses women for their chesty features!
In the past, other Chinese restaurants have had other interesting promotional discounts. Once business in Henan would give free dinners to strictly good looking people. Another location in Chongqing would give discounts to men who were overweight and women who were thin.
Dear China, you may want to get a new marketing strategy!
