Dan + Shay Celebrate No. 1, Name Follow-Up Single
Dan + Shay = a string of three big ol’ hits. Not too shabby!
The duo’s “How Not To” is the No. 1 country song in the U.S. on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts. It’s their third consecutive No. 1, and has been streamed more than 44 million times, according to their record label.
Once again, thank you.

“Huge shout out to our friends in country radio,” the duo’s Dan Smyers offered in a video posted on Twitter. “For playing the heck out of this song, for believing in us, for completely changing our lives. That is three No. 1s in a row, baby! That is so amazing!”
Added Shay Mooney, “I feel like we need to pinch ourselves a little bit. This feels like a dream. Thank you country radio. Thank you to our fans. We love you guys so much from the bottom our heart.”
The pair isn’t wasting any time naming a new single, either. “Road Trippin'” is the follow-up, as decided by fans. “Fans would always make posts saying, ‘Road tripping to the Dan + Shay show!’ – and we thought that was fantastic,” Mooney says through the duo’s record label. “We knew we had to make it into a song. We had a blast writing ‘Road Trippin’, and I think that comes across.” Check it out below.
