A Country Songwriter Has Passed Away
Kenny O’Dell has passed away at the age of 73.
Wide Open Country is reporting that O’Dell died on March 28.
He rose to fame in 1973 after Charlie Rich recorded “Behind Closed Doors.”
Til’ this day, it’s still one of the top 50 most performed songs.
The country songwriter scored a Grammy and a Country Music Award for the song.
Apart from being a songwriter, he also produced plenty of his own albums over the years.
He and his wife, Corki Ray, were married for nearly 50 years before her death last year.
