New Music Out Today From Dan Auerbach
Out today is “Waiting On A Song,” the second solo album from the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach.
The 10-song set, recorded at his Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville and the first release on his Easy Eye Sound label, follows 2009’s “Keep It Hid” and features guest appearances by Mark Knpofler, Duane Eddy and others and songwriting collaborations with John Prine.
It also means the wait continues for the next Black Keys album (the last was “Turn Blue” in 2014), and Auerbach cautions us not to hold our breath, and he’s ok with that:
“We don’t have any plans at the moment. Just enjoying a vacation…At the time we took a break we’d probably been touring for, we’d been on the road for almost four years straight. The thing about my new record is I’ve lived in Nashville almost eight years now, but this is really, this last year was the first time I feel like I’ve settled into my home because I was on the road so much. That also kinda came through on the record.”
Auerbach has no tour booked to promote “Waiting On A Song” but will play four shows with Prine during the fall.
